I Druther Have the Queen

In the ancient days of 1970, the comics were still pretty good—full-sized pages, decent color, decent art.

A number of the old 1930s and 40s strips were still going strong at that point. Prince Valiant, Abbie & Slats, Nancy, Out Our Way, Dick Tracy, Alley Oop, Li'l Orphan Annie, Tarzan, Mark Trail, and of course bunches from the 1950s. Oh yeah, and Li'l Abner by Al Capp.

I have no idea if Capp was really drawing any of Li'l Abner by that time, what with all his assistants dating back to Frazetta and beyond, but the art was solid, and the good girl art was always distinctive. Of course, the sense of humor was typical Capp.
