I so love the medium of drawing, as demonstrated here with a lovely print by the late Jeffrey Catherine Jones, one of the great artists to crumble the barrier between 'illustration' and 'fine art':
I enjoy your blog so much -- what a wonderful illustration!
The Dahesh Mueseum in New York a few years ago had a wonderful exhibition making the same point -- that much of the magazine illustration done during the Golden Age of magazines were fine art, as well. If you can find the catalog book, it is well worth reading.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
