Crumbling the Barrier

I so love the medium of drawing, as demonstrated here with a lovely print by the late Jeffrey Catherine Jones, one of the great artists to crumble the barrier between 'illustration' and 'fine art':

I enjoy your blog so much -- what a wonderful illustration!

The Dahesh Mueseum in New York a few years ago had a wonderful exhibition making the same point -- that much of the magazine illustration done during the Golden Age of magazines were fine art, as well. If you can find the catalog book, it is well worth reading.

Hey Bob! Thanks for the compliment! I would love to read that catalog, if I could just locate it.

Joe, you are such a sweetheart! Just don't let my wife know we're meeting like this.
