Seldom Seen

To be perfectly honest, I'm pretty tired of Monet's lily ponds and such, having seen them a kajillion times in my lifetime. Ah, but this seldom seen beautiful painting strikes a resonant chord with me!

L'Église de Varengeville; soleil couchant

I'm with you there, Thom. I'm over the impressionists and the contemporary impressionists. Not that they weren't/aren't wonderful artists, but over-exposure kills everything. JK Huysmans said it best: "The loveliest tune imaginable becomes vulgar and insupportable as soon as the public begins to hum it and the hurdy-gurdies make it their own."
