Creative Swipe

I love coming across connections like this. Like so many artists, this Mexican calendar artist, Jose Bribiesca, found inspiration in Andrew Loomis' Figure Drawing For All Its Worth. At least this painting from 1953, called The Dance of the Little Old Man,  succeeded as a creative swipe.

This particular pose seems to be the most popular for swipes, as you can see if you go over to the labels, click on Andrew Loomis and scroll down to the bottom (sorry, I can't seem to make a direct link).

About Me

My photo
Thomas Haller Buchanan
My name is Thom Buchanan. I'm an artist and photographer. People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years. I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
