The buccina is, of course, a brass instrument that was used in the ancient Roman army, which amuses Wallace Tripp.

    There will never be enough Wallace Tripp on the internet! I became familiar with Mr. Tripp's work around 1980 (mostly the Paw Prints illustrations) but have never seen the work that you have been posting lately!
    Thank you for making me fall in love all over again with his work!
