Goblins

Gimme a chance, you guys jumped in too fast. I was doin' some Labor Day party stuff and went out to play badminton before posting the next item, which was . . .

The piece from Christina Rossetti's Goblin Market that Arthur Rackham painted that Craft's painting was a take on.

Geez, I didn't know anyone was payin' attention here.

  1. Hopefully, not beating you to the bunch again, but always loved the Bolton Goblin Market adaptation.

  2. Regarding this classic fairy tale style, what do you think of Thony DiTerlizzi, who as fafr as I know counts among his influences Arthur Rackham?

  3. Paul, I remember John Bolton's adaptation from the 80s, but I don't have a copy of it. I like Bolton's work in general.

And Angus, yes Tony DiTerlizzi's work is nice. I can't imagine a fantasy artist that wouldn't derive some influence from Rackham, who is of course one of the giants whose shoulders the rest of the field stands on.
