Update: Thanks to a lead from docnad, I tracked down a pic, on Wiki, of this big duck— a building in Flanders, Suffolk County, New York, built in 1931 by a duck farmer.
I have seen the duck at least twice, living in Nassau County, which is on long Island. It was about 18 fast years ago. Suffolk was better property Tax wise but not anymore. The 2 counties rip-off the property owners serverly. Now I live in Florida in Fort Myers. The council members are very bad here too, but instead of 8,500 a year in NY its 3,500. here. Still it is lousy. Lee County was number 1 or 2 in the forclosure statistic vs Clark County Nevada, Las Vegas. So such whimsey as the Duck is Impossible to find now a days. Thanks for your site.
It's an eastern Long Island landmark of sorts.
