I'm Trying

I'm trying my best to adapt to this new format that Blogger has so generously bestowed upon us Blogger users. Anyone that doesn't use Blogger won't see anything different from your POV (except the color of the text— I can't figure out how to get a color I like), but on this side the dashboard has been 'stream-lined' and I have to think twice as hard before posting (yeah, yeah, I know— 2 times 0 is still 0).

Okay, but I'm trying. As my wife sez: yes, VERY trying.

Completely off the subject, but relevant to the last post, this image is a cover that Robert Crumb created using the little lightbulb-headed character that is/was Gyro Gearloose's helper. That little guy stole the show in so many Carl Barks' Gearloose stories, living his own little adventurous inventive life. Crumb gave him a heart and put him on guard. As to the rest of the cover, Crumb wouldn't be Crumb if he wasn't offending SOMEbody, huh?

  2. Crumb is a demented genius, really great. Thanks Sim.

  3. I adopted early to avoid having it thrust upon me, as I suspected would become inevitable.

You'll get used to it and it won't be so bad.

    Love the Crumb illustration.

  4. Are you talking about the image being cut off at the right? I had the same problem but if you change in the HTML to "400" or maybe "390" and erase the height, you'll get the full image.

  5. Thanks Sam—would I have to do that for each and every picture? What I did for now was go back and reduce the size of the image by clicking on sizes. But again, will I have to do that for every picture, because otherwise the default is 'small' and I want them to be 'large' every time. On the last interface I could just click 'keep the size the same every time'. Am I just not seeing that command?

This interface is more complicated, and for no good reason or effect.

  6. Speaking as someone who can see the Blogger dashboard, the new interface is incredibly annoying! I hate the mentality of the designers who decide 'what's good' for you, or by extension, them.

Crumb. I saw a documentary about him and his family; it added to understanding his work. Not really a huge fan, but I appreciate his talents - very much of his time.

  7. I usually have my images at Photobucket and use their codes, but occasionally have to use Blogger for storage if I post anything dirty (meaning above PG) and noticed the new changes last week. I don't know HTML but figured out how to crack some things by comparing the codes. Yeah, changing the size for every picture is a pain, I've found cutting and pasting is one shortcut. Still a pain, just a little less of one.

  8. Everything about operating and navigating on Blogger seemed to be easier before. Also - In the time it takes me to get 10 hits on Blogger I can get 500 on Facebook. Kinda makes you wonder.

  9. Yeah, makes you wonder just what the folks at Blogger were thinking.
