SANCtuary

Don't you want, sometimes, to escape to an island? I'd build a sanctuary somewhere in the high rocky quadrant. This particular island can turn into two islands at high tide.

Sigh. I guess this is another sign of depression.

  4. Except. Um, aren't those the Senkaku Islands, current focus of Japanese-Chinese international disputes, likely site of future Fukushima radioactive waste dumping and/or Chinese oil drilling?

Sorry to mention it. LOL! I think you might find more tranquilty as far from these islands as possible...

  5. Ah, yes ToB, but in my dreams, an island is an island. It could be in the magma oceans of hell, or the pirate run islands of Neverland. In my dreams my adventures consist of conquering and defending my island, a cutlass in my hand and my woman by my side! Tranquility is not necessarily what I'm after. I'd rather have the conflicts of high adventure than to die slowly in banal drudgery. LOL! I know, be careful what you wish for.

  6. It look like a nice little island to wide away the days, as you slowly die of dehydration or exposure from the elements. Good times! =D

The whole island thing is best when you have good supplies, amenities and some nice naked island folk to keep one worm at night. ;)

  7. Yes, yes, that's what I'm saying—if one can afford to own an island, one can afford to design it, stock it regularly with a room just to hold beverages and supplies, fortify it against the elements, and have lovely parties where inhibitions are cast aside with good people and good times. And then live as a recluse for periods of creativity and reflection. And I'm not saying specifically these islands shown here, where waste dumping is imminent. I'm talking about the concept of an island, a parcel of one's own isolated domain. Just thinking of it relaxes my mind.
