The time has come, my friends, for this blog to nap
and decide evens or odds if t'will come back.
Spammers have infested and infiltrated
bringing messages that have been hated.
The Pictorial Arts Journal has my attention
the rest of things are merely a mention.
Thus I meditate for a day or seven
to see if this blog will go to heaven.
I'm afraid I don't understand. If all comments are moderated, how can spammers post messages?
ReplyDeleteI'm not allowing the spammers to make it as far as the posts, they are jamming my moderation box, some trying to weasel their way in through very old posts, some with gibberish, some with devious intents, some with out and out spittle. I'm wading through dozens and dozens of these poltroons each day just to find the nice folks like you.
ReplyDeleteHi Thom,
ReplyDeleteEdmonton Painters on your King Kong Koncept is spam. It's a shame. Some kind of autobot generates fake comments based on key words or something. My main blog has very little traffic these days since I rarely post, but I've gotten a few spam comments here and there.
I am all for The Pictorial Arts Journal, but it would still be a shame to lose what you do here. If you decide to suspend posting, I hope you never make it disappear. You have too many wonderful posts, and people learn from them and from you.
Good luck wading through the spammer muck. Maybe you can contact blogger about better screening. They are supposed to catch most of these before they get to you.
I get the same, Thom, but most of them go into my Spam file which I usually delete unread. For the few that make it into my Awaiting Moderation file, I just move them to my Spam file and delete at my leisure.
ReplyDeleteIf you use the Captcha feature, the unwanted messages should disappear.
You've wrote a beautiful poem dear Thom! I hope you'll nip all of these spams in the bud! For you, and for us all of course! :) Thanks to be here!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think I speak for all the unskilled non-artist visitors to your blog when I say I hope you will defeat this curse and stay on-line.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that. Hope you rid your house of unwanted flotsam and return soon.
ReplyDeleteHey Thom, speaking as one of many 'lurkers' this is one of the most high quality & consistent art blogs about. Please stick it out, t'would be sorely missed.
ReplyDeleteReally appreciate getting a good look at the separate, raw images and non-sequiturs as well as arranged magazine format stuff.
I can't say it any better than what has already been said. I enjoy this blog, and hope that you will find a way to continue.
ReplyDeleteIm a daily visitor of your blog. Found so much great art and artist because of you. Hope you will keep it
ReplyDeleteup and you can find a sollution with all the spam.
I'm another fan. Hope you are able to continue.

I have been coming here since some time in 2009. Don't recall what brought me here, a picture of a beautiful women or great cover art. I for one will miss this little deviation in my life........If you do pull the plug....
ReplyDeleteBut if you move on, I see you and I have a friend at Muddy's place, Tumblr ain't all that bad.
And just in case... Thanks for posting all those great pictures and art work
