Der Fliegenfänger

I'm posting this image of an interesting sculpture if nothing more than because I like typing and saying its name, and interestingly enough seems to translate as 'The Flypaper'.

Karl Seffner — Der Fliegenfänger — circa 1898

  1. Hi Thom
I thought I'd let you know it's literally 'flycatcher' and thus 'flypaper' but I looked it up and can't see this title at all, where as this site shows it might be 'Tanzender Faun', i.e. 'Dancing Faun' or what you said!!!

  2. Well, it certainly LOOKs like a faun . . . maybe stalking a fly?

  3. Is it possible that I was once able to see the pictorialartsjournal before or was it always invitation only?
    Best wishes,

  4. Ah, thanks for asking Natta. I'm getting close to relaunching the Pictorial Arts Journal, and in doing so, I've sequestered most of my other blogs so as to streamline the journal's identity. It's a confusing evolution, but hopefully I'll get it straightened out soon.
