New Magic into the Old

Kinuko Craft is so adept at infusing new magic into the old magic of illustrators' styles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries:

Kinuko Craft — Sleeping Beauty — 2001

Walter Crane — The Sleeping Beauty — 1882

I think I've mentioned before, that Kinuko Y. Craft is one of my favorite modern illustrators. Her compositions, her choice of pattern and colors, and her faces, are always detailed and romantic, and evocative of the stories and novels they illustrate.

Thank you for your evocative artwork and permission to reblog on Scripta Divina.blogspot. I've posted something on Sleeping Beauty and the usefulness of metaphors for understanding stories as well as our lives. Happy to find you: happy to give you credit. Garnette
