I love the faux military designs of Ralph Lauren that he also brought to the 2012 US Olympic Team. This design is from earlier than that runway. The look is commanding.
Throw an oversize, '70s-styled sunglasses on that, then widen the epaulettes, and you got the uniform of a dictator of some third-world Banana Republic. I know it avant-garde fashion, but it looks really cartoonish on a professional sports team.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

I thought it looked like a fun dress-up party, and the women looked smashing!
The world needs more fun.
