A Savory Delight

Distinctly Russian in flavor and seasoned with 1920s stylism, Boris Zvorykin's illustrations for Firebird & Other Stories are a savory delight. Admittedly I'm biased of sentiment, as this book was a gift many years ago, from a girlfriend who is now deceased. When she presented it to me, beautifully wrapped, she had a twinkle in her eye and an enigmatic smile, preparing me for something special. 

This is the last of his story illustrations that I've previously posted and I wish there were more.
