Ordinary Subject, Extraordinary Artist

It's wonderful to see how ordinary subjects can be interpreted by extraordinary artists . . . like Jeffrey Catherine Jones.

I've just read Wikipedia's short mention of the reason for the added "Catherine" to her name in recent years. Jones has produced much wonderful work over the years and is still going strong.

It's extraordinary to look at a simple rendering of a rose and recognize the artist that created it. A lot of artists would create water droplets and highlights and delicate nuances and superfluous details. There's an indefinable quality of essence for a Jones rendering.

Before Jones pulled his web page down (so sad) I emailed him and actually got a response. We discussed classic illustrators but after a while the link went dead.
