Harmony

James Abbott McNeill Whistler is hugely famous for his Arrangement in Grey and Black (his mom), but I much prefer his Harmony in Pink and Grey (Lady Meux).

I like the expression in her face, which comes across in large scale, but is lost in the thumbnail version (at least on my laptop screen!) Whistler captures a tremulous quality, and an inner strength. The color palette is a perfect echo of that, and the shine and matte of her clothing.

Very, very nice. Some of the strokes remind me of things Jeff Jones would do.

Yes, very Jones like.
