Good Golly Miss Molly, but I miss the days when every third book on the drugstore book spinner had a Jeff Jones, Frank Frazetta, or Roy Krenkel cover. And the stories were fun TOO!
I remeber those days very well...from the mid 1960's through the mid-80's I haunted the book stores searching for covers by Jones, Frazetta, Krenkel, Steranko and a few others! It didn't take long to learn when the new stock arrived! I especially enjoyed going down to Book World in the center of the Yale section of New Haven in the wee hours of the morning! That's where I saw the first Conan cover, they had a insert poster advertising it on the wall which I talked them out of...still got it!
I love this early period of Jeff's cover paintings! One of my all time favorite artists!
And covers by John Schoenherr, Dean Ellis, Ed Emshwiller, Bob Haberfield, Jerome Podwil, Bruce Pennington, Ed Valigursky, John Berkey, Paul Lehr, Gray Morrow, Ralph Brillhart, Jack Gaughan, Bob Pepper, George Ziel, Chris Foss, Richard Powers.

I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

but, as for the other thing: yep! agreed!
The promo blurb on the cover and the art, definitely makes the reader want to read it!
