Annie, don't you just love stand-alone pages of evocative illustration and text? A lot of great golden age stuff was like that, appealing to the aesthete of society.
I almost used the word, evocative, to describe the illustration: Great poems and evocative illustration, were my first thoughts. So, I'm glad you used it!
Yes, the word evocative has been used so much in a sexual context, that it sometimes seems inappropriate. But in a classical, magical, context it is is evoking a response that transcends the mundane.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
