For the rest of December, I think I'll stick with images of the season, ones I've been saving all year.
This 1937 Fortune magazine cover is a clever pictorial pun, but is also an indictment of the capitalistic heights that the holiday has become. I was going to say prescient, but I guess in 1937, it was already a corporate megalith.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
