Nimphidia

This is the frontispiece for a 1906 edition of Nimphidia, the Court of Faerie, a gouache painting by Thomas Maybank. The book featured the poem of a faerie company, written in 1627 by Michael Drayton, a friend of Shakespeare, no less.

Thomas,

What a lovely painting! I wasn't familiar with Maybank! As far as the first comment goes, that kind of nonsense is the reason I moderate comments!

Yes, I delete these nonsense comments daily and I've refrained from moderation, so as not to discourage sincere comments, but I'm afraid the time has come. I've got spammish comments showing up constantly, even deep in the archives. I'm turning on the moderation buffer now.
