Much as I appreciate some of the results of artists' breaking out of the conventions of golden age comic books — 3×4-panel format, spartan use of props, uniform (and otherwise unnatural) colors for large surfaces, and so forth — they have a real charm to them when combined with the sort of draftsmanship seen here.
