Edmund Dulac has portrayed Circe, the enchantress, several times — but none MORE enchanting than this seldom-seen version that was designed for a tapestry.
E.G., this tapestry was woven by Leo Belmonte, and apparently also a second time, in a much later execution. They are in private collections, but the whereabouts are presently unknown.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

I like it a lot. Was the tapestry executed? If so, do we know what happened to it?

You always find wonderful things to share. Thank you!
This is beautiful! I love how he's taken into accout the Minoan costumes to make this.
