Inspiration

A panel by Esteban Maroto and, below it, his inspiration by John Atkinson Grimshaw. Grimshaw inspired himself by painting several very similar such paintings.

Interesting to compare the relative leg lengths (unsurprisingly longer for Maroto) and the shape of the pelvis and hips.

I also find it interesting to look at the use of the differently-shaped wings and how they have changed the compositional arrangement of the figure. The amount of the lean of her torso also contributes to this, if I am not being totally off-the-target.
