Truly Thirsty
Vampires are more popular than ever this year, in all formats of pop culture. For me, none rivals the persona of Count Dracula, as characterized by Bela Lugosi. This is how he looked in the stage production of 1927, when he truly was handsome, suave, debonair and thirsty.

personally i'm bloody sick of all the psuedo-Vampires around these days. They're all a bunch of wussies compared to the likes of Bela and Max Schrek! Even Spike and Angelis from Buffy would make mincemeat out of this new crop of suckers. great pic btw! Bela had a fling with Clara Bow at one point... *sigh*
Clara and Bela—the IT couple!
You're dead-on right about the psuedos. Wot the hell is THAT all about?
I notice that, in this picture, Lugosi does not wear the Magen David as in the film.
Anyway, I love the horror films of the truly classic period. And Lugosi was a d_mn'd fine actor, whose real problem was that he was no good at negotiating pay. He never made much; and, as a result, slid into lurching from one bad film to another; but, in almost every case, gave about the best possible performance, given the material.
bleuh! bleuh! blueh!
