Sensuous Tableaux

A rather sensuous tableaux for a cigarette ad, but it was the roaring twenties after all. And besides— these are theatuh folk!

Lewis Baumer — for Abdulla Cigarettes —1923

The irony is that you could use that same sensuality in advertising today... you just can't advertise cigarettes.

As I don't smoke, I am always surprised to see cigarettes associated with sensuality.

Cancer sticks aside, I first saw this artist in a 1920s copy of punch and was knocked out by his effortless rendering and sensuous lines. Anyone know where I can fine albums of his work, without paying hundreds 0f dollars for original books or prints?
