A Useful Trade

I love working as a designer. It's fulfilling to see something emerge from nothing. And it's a useful trade as well, as just about everything you see around you had to be designed by someone. Even circus parades are aided with design:

I went to a conference where an illustrator spoke about his process, and he brought that point home- that everything you see was designed by someone, from the lowly pencil to the coffee pot to a theatre set to a circus parade!
