Just when you thought you didn't want to go back in the water with The Little Mermaid, Charles Santore freshens up the old story by Hans Christian Andersen with alluring design and illustrations, making it an intriguing book for all ages.
The illustrations are beautiful. I'm trying to find a copy of the book. I'd love to read this version, and then decide how I feel about the illustrations. In Sulamith Wulfing's illustrations, The Little Mermaid is actually a child, completely innocent even when totally nude, and far from alluring. I enjoy comparing different artist's versions.

I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.
