The internet is awash with image tributes to the late Joe Kubert, as he so deserves. This drawing fell unbidden out of my image morgue, so what better time to post it than now . . .
Thom, take a look at his feet - they look a little awkward to me, and the brushwork seems different. Could they have been added by another hand, do you think? They're actually quite clumsily rendered.
Yeah, I suppose the drawing is a bit awkward in the legs. Assuming this isn't a 'paste-up', other than the text, and judging by the smallness of the signature, I would venture to guess this is a pretty large drawing which is harder to control than a smaller one. This was a two page sideways spread.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

I am sure I had this poster. What strikes me is the contemporary haircut - very inauthentic.
Joe Kubert is a big influence!

Criticizing Kubert, are ye?
