Drawing People for Fun

There were a lot of books running around in the 1940s, trying to teach people how to draw people. I got this book in my 40s, called Drawing People for Fun (1943), by Roger Vernam, who had a loose technique based on tight principles.

I do too. They're quite elegant.

I don't have this book, but I love his illustrations in children's books. Incredibly rich and detailed--really holds a child's attention.

I ordered a copy of this book a few days ago, in large part motivated by this entry.
