That's a lot like that Charles Addams cartoon of the same scene, except the person is holding up a Mondrian painting and Leonardo says, "Oh, just something I was messing with."
Ha, yes, there are a number of variations of that joke by a number of cartoonists. Rowland Wilson did another Leonardo cartoon with a joke about a bicycle. Charles Addams also had Leonardo selling his paintings at a sidewalk sale in Manhattan.
