Embattled Britain

Because Margaret Thatcher is back in the public consciousness again, thanks to The Iron Lady movie starring Meryl Streep, I thought this would be a good time to post up this outstanding graphic.

As Thatcher was compelled to seek privatization of Britain's industrial factories and break a stranglehold of trade unions, this portrait caricature is nothing short of brilliant. This was a Time magazine cover illustration for a feature entitled "Embattled Britain" in 1981.

Very clever. Almost looks like an Al Jaffee Mad fold-out.
