Same was True

The same was true for me of anything by Neal Adams during the 1970s. I would buy anything by him, and usually in multiples.

Neal Adams/Dick Giordano — Green Lantern/Green Arrow — 1977

Loved his DC Batman work. Wasn't always wild about some of his panel layouts on other stuff 'though. I got the 3 volume DC Adams/Batman books that came out a few years back - I see he had 'tweaked' some of it.

I was right there with the 60's on up I would buy two of any good art cover on a comic or paperback! I would slice off the cover of one and keep it in my flat file of the individual know...Frazetta, Jones, Steranko, Adams, Stevens, Wrightson, Kaluta and many others! To this day "I have detailed files..."

Always a pleasure to see early-70's work by Adams; at that time, for me at least, he was untouchable. His cover for Batman #241 is my all-time favourite -- Batman running/floating over the rooftops. I don't know if you have it in your collection, but I'd love to see a good scan of it sometime.

I was listening to a podcast a few months ago and one of the podcasters had met Adams at a convention. During the conversation, Adams told him that he was tired of people telling him, "I love your old stuff from the '70s." He apparently thinks he's a much better artist now than he was then. I would disagree.
