For many, Joe Kubert's primary legacy consists of war stories of the Silver Age, rendered with believability even when the writing of the stories themselves was sometimes formulaic and overwritten, and . . . well . . . unbelievable. Such is the world of comix—but for me, Joe's art always sold the story and always made the book worth collecting.
Below are a couple of house ads of DC's war lineup, masquerading as battle pin-ups. There were many fine artists working these books, but Kubert's art held them together.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, as I don't limit myself in the process of how an image is made. Images are my life.
