Nuits de Folies

In 1932, Alec Shanks designed this program cover for the Folies Bergère, one of Paris' most legendary cabarets, in a very Erté like style, elegant and larger than life—which of course is what the Follies were.

Indeed, very Erté! Except for the faces and signature, it's very, very Erté. Amazing! And Amazing ilustration too.

I haven't seen anything else by this Alec Shanks, but he must've had a body of work, maybe just lost in the glare of Erté . . .
