There's just something about a Roy Krenkel drawing that grabs my imagination and just won't let go. There are so many Krenkel drawings out there, waiting to be discovered, that it's like a treasure hunt to gather them together.

My name is Thom Buchanan.
I'm an artist and photographer.
People are my favorite subjects to portray in art and photos. My wife (and studio partner) has called that my 'people skills', as I've been passionately creating portrait studies for many years.
I refer to myself as a pictorialist, a combination of image-making and journalist. Images are my life.

Wow, what a great drawing!
Beautiful!
What other "comic artist" had such a wonderful decorative design sense?

I love this drawing. I think RGK is a terrific illustrator. Too bad he was buddies with Frazetta - it seemed to crush his spirit somehow.
I think Roy was an enormous influence on Frazetta. I'd guess Roy enjoyed being somewhat of a teacher to Frazetta, and having a star pupil like that.
